The Story of Nisa Sri Wahyuni, an LPDP Awardee who successfully completed her Master's studies in Epidemiology at Imperial College London, England, went viral on LinkedIn. In her post, @nisasriwahyunii shared her family background story; her parents, both graduates of elementary school, faced economic limitations but persisted in providing the best education for their children. Her graduation from one of the top schools in the UK was the result of hard work and the spiritual and moral upbringing provided by her family.

Due to financial constraints, during her undergraduate studies (S1), Nisa had to relinquish her dream of studying Medicine at UI (University of Indonesia). Despite being a beneficiary of the Bidikmisi scholarship, she had to be realistic. Worried about the high costs and unable to complete her education, she decided to switch her major to Public Health at UI.

Although not entirely aligned with her initial aspirations, Nisa pursued her education responsibly. Her efforts consistently yielded achievements, and she managed to complete her undergraduate studies in just 3 years and 6 months.

In pursuit of her dream for further studies, in 2017, she applied for various scholarships but faced rejections, even from 7 different scholarship programs. Undeterred, she tried again in 2018 and eventually became an LPDP Awardee.

She also struggled to achieve the required IELTS score. She dedicated herself to studying day and night, occasionally shedding tears in prayer, yet her test results fell short by 0.5 points of the university's requirement of 7.0. With an unwavering spirit, she continued studying to improve her IELTS score. Despite the risk of not being able to proceed, her previous contribution experience in a cancer program at work earned her leniency from the university.

Currently, she works as a consultant at WHO, involved in COVID-19 vaccination programs, routine immunization, surveillance, and duties for the Banten Province. She and her family continue to live a modest life, and her father still enjoys working as an online motorcycle taxi driver. Her message emphasizes always striving for the best in pursuing dreams and aspirations, believing in the process, and embracing the journey, as success is reserved for those who persevere.
