Jakarta, September 29, 2023 - Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) is committed to continuously supporting the enhancement of Human Resources in the healthcare sector. LPDP has collaborated with the Ministry of Health to open the 2023 Specialist Doctor Fellowship Scholarship program.

The Specialist Doctor Fellowship Scholarship is primarily aimed at studying four diseases that contribute to the highest mortality rates: heart diseases, stroke, urology and nephrology, or cancer. The target recipients for the Fellowship Scholarship are Indonesian citizens working as specialist doctors holding a Registration Certificate (STR) and Practice License (SIP) as Specialist Doctors.

LPDP Fellowship Director, Dwi Larso, stated that the medical field in Indonesia requires improved quality and meets various demands. Therefore, LPDP has taken the initiative to provide funding for the Ministry of Health's Fellowship Scholarships, allocating a quota of 1000 scholarships for this year.

"We aim to support the healthcare industry by producing numerous specialized doctors, including those undergoing fellowships. We acknowledge the need to enhance the capacity for this program within Medical Faculties, hence LPDP is offering 1000 scholarships annually," said Dwi Larso.

Meanwhile, Oos Fatimah Rosyadi, Director of Health Workforce Provider at the Ministry of Health, mentioned that the fellowship program for specialist doctors aims to transform specialized referral services, particularly for the four leading causes of mortality.

"With more specialist doctors pursuing fellowships, we anticipate that sub-specialist services will significantly improve. Moving forward, we hope to expand to other specialized areas that are ready to conduct fellowships in accordance with the prevailing regulations," Oos Fatimah Rosyadi added.

The Specialist Doctor Fellowship Scholarship was first launched in May 2023 and was attended by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

The registration for the Fellowship Scholarship opens every month, starting from October 1st to 8th, November 1st to 7th, and December 1st to 5th, 2023. The Fellowship program is available for both domestic and international purposes.

The components of LPDP's Fellowship Scholarship funding consist of educational funds such as program funds, book allowance, and support funds, covering monthly living expenses, arrival expenses, visa application fees, health insurance, transportation, and emergency funds.
