Yogyakarta, May 22, 2023 - The Ministry of Finance's Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) visited the Student City of Yogyakarta to organize a business competition aimed at producing 5 million entrepreneurs by Indonesia's golden anniversary in 2045.

Held on Monday (5/22) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY), LPDP presented the 5 Million Entrepreneurs 2045 Business Competition (5ME2045). Yogyakarta, known as an important educational hub, was selected as LPDP believes it to be a fertile ground for generating creative and competitive business ideas among students and the younger generation.

"Yogyakarta is one of the most suitable regions for LPDP to search and filter business ideas with future competitiveness. We will provide assistance and feedback for proposals submitted to LPDP. Additionally, LPDP will offer competency development training, helping to open business ecosystem access, such as connecting with investors," said Shera Betania, Head of LPDP Alumni Management Subdivision, who attended as a speaker.

The 5ME2045 program is designed to be as flexible as possible and is open to all business ideas in various fields, not limited to alumni or scholarship recipients. In terms of business ideas, LPDP encourages participants to develop well-crafted business proposals capable of capturing the attention of the industrial world and investors. This is supported by the presence of two entrepreneurship seminar speakers sharing insights into crafting effective business proposals and developing business ideas.

LPDP has introduced two competition categories within the 5ME2045 target, namely the LPDP Business Plan Initiation Competition, open to those looking to start a business or with a business under two years old, submitting business plans to the 5ME2045 LPDP committee. The second category is the LPDP Growth Plan Business Competition, intended for those who have been operating a business for 2-5 years, submitting proposals for business development to compete.

LPDP will select the top 25 business proposals, both teams and individuals, to be flown to Jakarta to refine their business ideas with expert mentors. Additionally, LPDP is committed to responding directly to all submitted proposals by mentors and judges, with the hope that business owners can gain valuable education.

Amat Jaedun, UNY Student Community Companion, welcomed the LPDP 5ME2045 program, finding it helpful and enlightening for students to create quality proposals.

"This competition will serve as a simulation for students, the general public, and even students to create good business proposals. Hopefully, the ideas outlined in the proposals can be realized in real businesses," said Amat.

Representative of Mata Garuda Yogyakarta, Rahmatullah, stated that the goal of this activity is to develop the talents and businesses of LPDP scholarship recipients, alumni, and the wider community, especially in Yogyakarta.

"We encourage those who want and already have businesses in Jogja to continue developing them, and this LPDP program is one of the available paths among many in the business world."

The 5ME2045 LPDP Business Competition Roadshow takes place in 11 cities across Indonesia, starting from May 2, 2023. Winners, whether teams or individuals, will be announced at the peak event of the LPDP Festival on August 2, 2023. (deb/ton)
