The RISPRO Policy or Governance Research funding is a competitive research grant that aims to produce policies or models as outputs, engaging partners to implement the research findings.
Output
The main outcomes of the RISPRO (Policy or Governance Research) funding consist of:
- Academic policy papers;
- Model books/governance materials; and
- Academic publications.
Criteria

The proposed RISPRO must be conducted within the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia;

The proposed RISPRO has been selected according to LPDP provisions by the institution overseeing the RISPRO Proposer and has received approval or validation;

The RISPRO Proposer consists of multidisciplinary researchers;
-
The RISPRO Proposer is led by a researcher with a minimum doctoral degree or equivalent qualifications (in accordance with the Indonesian National Qualification Framework standards) and has a research track record that aligns with the RISPRO proposal;

The lead researcher is not currently pursuing further studies or other academic activities such as academic recharging programs, postdocs, among others;

The RISPRO Proposer must have a Policy/Governance RISPRO Partner within a certain period and contribute in the form of funds participation and/or other forms, which can be evaluated with cash or in-kind, at least equivalent to 10% (ten percent) of the proposed funds to LPDP;

The commitment of the Policy/Governance RISPRO Partner must be documented in a statement of commitment from the Policy/Governance RISPRO Partner;

Each Research Team may only receive RISPRO funding once in the same period, either as the lead researcher or a team member;

The proposed RISPRO must have an implementation feasibility study of the policy/model/governance produced;

The proposed RISPRO must have reputable international scientific publications or nationally accredited publications relevant to the RISPRO Proposer;

The proposed RISPRO has reached a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 5 or higher, which is evidenced by a self-assessment document about the readiness level based on the instruments applicable in the ministry responsible for research, technology, and higher education governance, accompanied by supporting documents fulfilling the TRL indicators.
Partner
Ministries/agencies, local governments, professional groups, industries, SMEs, cooperatives, start-up companies, or businesses under universities, who are committed to implementing the RISPRO outputs either directly or indirectly within a specific timeframe, and contribute through financial participation, and/or other measurable forms (cash/in-kind).
Amount and components of funds

The amount of funding for RISPRO Policy or Governance research with outputs such as regulatory concepts, community empowerment models, or governance to be implemented can reach a maximum of Rp500,000,000 (five hundred million Indonesian Rupiah) per title per year.

The funding for RISPRO is structured per component as follows:

Direct Costs of at least 95% (ninety-five percent) of the funding, which consists of Personnel Direct Costs (Salary and/or Honorarium) and Non-Personnel Direct Costs organized based on research activities to achieve research outputs according to applicable regulations.

Indirect Costs up to 5% (five percent) of the funding, which includes internal monitoring costs, administrative expenses, and/or other expenses (such as institutional development costs) to support research activities following the prevailing regulations.

The allocated funding for RISPRO by the RISPRO Proposer includes taxes.

The funding for RISPRO Policy or Governance can be allocated for:

Research team honorarium;
-
Labor wages;
-
Purchase/procurement of consumable items such as raw materials or production components or office supplies;

Organization or participation in Focus Group Discussions (FGD)/capacity building/training, surveys, socialization, seminars, dissemination, exhibitions, or expos;
-
Domestic travel;
-
Consultation fees for experts or respondents;
-
Registration/management of product or technology certifications such as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Indonesian National Standards (SNI);
-
Registration of scientific articles to be published in national or international journals; and
-
Duplication, binding, or printing for reporting.

Purchase/procurement of references or data

Registration/management of product or technology certifications such as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Indonesian National Standards (SNI); and
-
International travel can be done only once per year of RISPRO Funding to attend seminars/conferences/exhibitions related to the produced research outputs or scientific articles to be published in national or international journals.

RISPRO Funding cannot be used for the following:

Land/property purchase;

Operational vehicle purchase;
-
Building construction;
-
Guarantees and loans to other parties;
-
Cash grants or aid to other parties or communities;

Purchase/procurement of communication tools, including credit; and
-
Other uses not approved by LPDP.

The funding for the RISPRO proposer's salary and/or honorarium is maximum 30% of the total funding and is regulated with the highest cost unit as follows:

Time period
- The funding duration is a maximum of 2 (two) years.
- In the case of technology transfer/utilization/implementation preparation from RISPRO results, the research period can be extended by 1 (one) year based on the reviewer's recommendation.
- The RISPRO Funding Period considers the minimum readiness level of the RISPRO Funding.
