London, May 6, 2024 - The Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) feels responsible for the awardees who will graduate by conducting post-study training and networking activities.
The training activity called LEAD (Leaders Enrichment, Attachment, and Development) collaborated with the Indonesian Student Association in Britain and Ireland (MGBI) with the theme "Unlocking Potentials for Better Indonesian Future."
There was something different about the LEAD activity this time. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrayani also attended amid her working visits to several European countries. Minister Sri Mulyani stated that when talking about unlocking a country's potential, the main asset is Indonesia's human resources.
Minister Sri Mulyani also emphasized the need to have ambition, hard work, and strong mental attitude to develop the acquired potential and knowledge to advance the nation. She instructed the awardees to also study various institutional innovations in the countries where they are studying so that they can be implemented in Indonesia.
"All of you, whom the country has invested in, have a responsibility to ensure that Indonesia does not stop at being a middle-income country. It is now referred to as upper-middle income, because above $5000. The gap from upper-middle to high income is huge," said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in front of hundreds of attendees at the event.
Before the Finance Minister's session, the LEAD discussion revolved around insights related to career preparation and the transition from academic life to the professional world. Two speakers, Raeni, PhD (Researcher in Accounting and Climate Change, and Expert Reviewer for the UN's Global Environment Outlook), and Analisa Widyaningrum, Psychologist, MSc (Clinical Psychologist at JIH Hospital and CEO of the Analisa Personality Development Center), each provided unique perspectives on how to leverage personal potential to make an active contribution to Indonesia.
The GEMA x LEAD event was held in a hybrid format, also broadcast on LPDP's official YouTube channel. This is the second year of the GEMA x LEAD event. In the first year in 2023, GEMA had a positive impact on more than 250 students from across the UK and Ireland.
According to MGBI's release, more than 500 participants crowded the All Souls Langham Place building to witness GEMA x LEAD. The event took place from 12:00 to 17:00 local time.
