Enhancing Human Resources Quality in Metallurgy and Material Sciences, LPDP Launches Scholarship Program in Collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment

Jakarta, May 25, 2022 - Endowed with immense natural resources, especially metals and materials, the enhancement of human resources in governance, utilization, and technological development is imperative for Indonesia. To realize this grand vision, LPDP, in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, has launched the Scholarship Program in the Field of Metallurgy and Material Sciences.

This program is open for Master’s degree (S2) studies over a span of 3 years, conducted at the School of Metallurgy and Environment, Central South University, China, focusing on New Energy Materials and Comprehensive Resource Utilization.

The registration for the scholarship program commenced on May 20 and will conclude on June 5, 2022. All applicants will undergo a selection process comprising administrative and substantive stages before the final announcement on June 20, 2022. The program is available to the general public as well as civil servants (ASN), prioritizing those with educational backgrounds in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.

The general registration requirements include:

  1. Age: 35 years for the general public, 37 years for civil servants (42 years for civil servants in functional positions)

  2. GPA: 3.00 on a 4.00 scale

  3. Language:

    1. Applicants must present a TOEFL iBT 85 / IELTS 6.0 certificate.

    2. If the English language proficiency requirement in point 3.1 is not met, applicants can still participate in the LPDP selection process.

    3. Applicants designated as LPDP scholarship recipients must resubmit proof of English language proficiency TOEFL iBT 85 or IELTS 6.0 to LPDP before signing the Statement Letter (SP) and submitting the Letter of Guarantee (LoG).

    4. If point 3.3 is not met, the scholarship funding component by LPDP cannot be executed.

To disseminate information about this opportunity, LPDP and the Coordinating Ministry also conducted an online Webinar to Socialize the Scholarship Program in the Field of Metallurgy and Material Sciences on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
