Jakarta, October 6, 2023 - A total of 875 awardees from three cohorts (PK-211 Nara Kelana, PK 212 Adhiyasa Wirashakti, PK 213 Askara Bhuwana) have completed the Departure Preparation activities in September 2023.
Each cohort had the opportunity to engage in sessions filled with experiences, inspiration, and hopes shared by officials and academics invited by Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP). For instance, the presence of Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin during the PK-212 event.
An ITB Nuclear Physics graduate, the Minister shared the ups and downs of his career across various fields, currently serving as the top official in the Ministry of Health. He emphasized the need for extraordinary efforts and a willingness to compete for achieving excellent results to attain success.
"So, my message to all of you is, keep your fighting spirit very, very strong. Usually, that's evident through competitive spirit," said the former President Director of Bank Mandiri in front of hundreds of PK-212 awardees.
In the preceding PK-211 event, Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono was also present. He both appreciated and placed expectations on the selected LPDP scholarship recipients to pursue higher education at the best institutions.
"I received news from LPDP through Mr. Dwi Larso, that 7,000 scholarships (quota for 2023) were issued by the government through LPDP funds to enhance educational capacity and the quality of your education," said Professor Teta from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.
The provision of these scholarships is deemed appropriate for preparing Human Resources to achieve Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia). As the workforce from Indonesia's demographic bonus will be substantial during those years, there's a need to equip them with an elevated level of education to compete and progress.
"You must be an innovator. Innovators build systems, and the most important thing that needs to be honed is the ability to undertake entrepreneurship, not just for financial gain but to build technology, to build culture in the places where you will work," Dante conveyed.
Various other figures also attended the Departure Preparation in September, such as Puteri Anetta Komarudin from the Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, LPDP Review Committee member Nasaruddin Umar, PT Pertamina Finance Director Emma Sri Martini, World Bank's Head of External & Corporate Relations, Infrastructure Practice Mohamad Al-Arief, CEO of Citi Indonesia Batara Sianturi, and CEO of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur Edwin Syahruzad.
Departure Preparation is a mandatory preparatory program for LPDP scholarship recipients. The selected sons and daughters from all corners of the archipelago with diverse backgrounds gather, network, and build collective concern to complete their studies and return to contribute to the nation.
