International Collaboration RISPRO

Definition

RISPRO International Collaboration or RISPRO KI Funding is a Research Funding with a theme established by LPDP for basic research schemes through collaboration with external parties, in the form of joint calls, matching funds, or co-funding.

Purpose

  1. Funding strategically important and internationally renowned basic research, with the potential to yield scientific articles publishable in highly reputable international journals, intellectual property, technology prototypes, and/or social engineering models; and
  2. Enhancing the quality and productivity of domestic researchers.

Output

  1. Scientific articles with the following requirements:

    1. The lead researcher of RISPRO KI must have at least two scientific articles as the 1st author and/or corresponding author that have been accepted in high-reputed international scientific journals (Q1 Scopus indexed); and

    2. The lead researcher of RISPRO KI must have at least one scientific article co-authored with a research partner that has been accepted in a highly reputable international scientific journal (Q1 Scopus indexed).

  2. Registered intellectual property;

  3. Technology or product prototypes;

  4. Social engineering models.

Research Partners

Research Partners are researchers or research groups from universities or research and development institutions, or similar entities from abroad.

RISPRO’s Partner

The party appointed by LPDP as a working partner to conduct the call for proposal or registration and selection process, as well as to carry out monitoring and evaluation of the research funded through RISPRO-KI, based on a cooperation agreement.

Criteria

  1. The proposer of RISPRO KI must be led by a researcher with a minimum of a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and is not currently pursuing further studies or other academic activities such as academic recharging programs, postdocs, and the like;
  2. The RISPRO KI proposer must have a research partner, as evidenced by a memorandum of understanding or a cooperation agreement document, and/or other relevant documents;
  3. RISPRO KI proposers (either as lead or member) are only allowed to propose or register one research proposal during a specific registration period;
  4. The proposed research must have a preliminary study consisting of at least 3 (three) scientific articles authored by the lead proposer of RISPRO KI (as the first author) that are relevant to the theme of RISPRO KI and have been published in international journals, at minimum Q2 Scopus indexed.

Selection and Assessment

  1. The implementation of the RISPRO KI selection can be carried out through collaboration with RISPRO's Partner;

  2. The RISPRO KI selection is divided into 2 stages, namely:

    1. Administrative selection, and

    2. Substance selection.

  3. Administrative selection is the assessment stage of the alignment with the focus and theme of the research proposal, as well as the criteria for the RISPRO KI proposer;

  4. Substance selection is the evaluation stage of the quality of the RISPRO KI proposer, research outputs, research updates, and the appropriateness of the research budget, conducted by a minimum of 3 reviewers;

  5. The approval of administrative selection is determined based on the alignment with the focus and theme of the research proposal, criteria for the RISPRO KI proposer, and the completeness of the required documents as specified in the criteria.

  6. The approval of Substance Selection is determined based on the collective and collegial recommendations of a minimum of 3 (three) reviewers (without any differing recommendations) with a minimum approval score of 75 (seventy-five) percent of the maximum score.

Funding Term and Amount

  1. The duration of RISPRO-KI funding is a maximum of 3 (three) years and can be extended for an additional maximum of 3 (three) years.

  2. The funding amount for RISPRO-KI is at most IDR 2,000,000,000.00 (two billion Indonesian Rupiah) per research title per year or a maximum of IDR 6,000,000,000 (six billion Indonesian Rupiah) per research title over 3 (three) years.

  3. The components of RISPRO-KI funding are structured as follows:

    1. Direct Costs with a minimum value of 95% (ninety-five percent) of the total RISPRO-KI funding, consisting of Personnel Direct Costs and Non-Personnel Direct Costs.

    2. Indirect Costs with a maximum value of 5% (five percent) of the total RISPRO-KI funding, consisting of internal monitoring costs, administrative costs, and/or other costs (such as institutional development costs) to support the implementation of research activities.

  4. Personnel Direct Costs can be used for the following purposes:

    1. Salary/honorarium for the research team;

    2. Salary/honorarium for the research team's administrator;

  5. Personnel Direct Costs amount to a maximum of 30% (thirty percent) of the total RISPRO-KI funding, with cost units specified in the guidelines of the RISPRO-KI Recipient Institution or in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  6. Non-Personnel Direct Costs can be used for the following purposes:

    1. Purchase/acquisition of consumable items such as raw materials or production components and/or reference/data/books and office stationery;

    2. Purchase/acquisition/rental of laboratory equipment/land/animals for observation or testing, including laboratory or industrial testing services;

    3. Organization or participation in Focus Group Discussions (FGD)/capacity building/training, surveys, socialization, seminars, or dissemination.

    4. Domestic travel;

    5. Wages/honorarium for field labor, experts, speakers, surveyors, observers, or respondents;

    6. Registration/management of product or technology certification or Intellectual Property such as patent or copyright management or other Intellectual Property and Indonesian National Standards (SNI) or compliance with other standards, including registration/management of permits related to research implementation;

    7. Registration of scientific articles;

    8. Duplication, binding, or printing;

    9. International travel to participate in Focus Group Discussions (FGD)/capacity building/training, testing, surveys, observations, socialization, seminars, or dissemination.

  7. Specifically, Non-Personnel Direct Costs for international travel can be carried out a maximum of 2 (two) times in 1 (one) year with a total funding allocation of up to IDR 250,000,000 (two hundred and fifty million Indonesian Rupiah) per year.

  8. RISPRO-KI funding cannot be used for the following purposes:

    1. Purchase of land/property.

    2. Purchase of operational vehicles.

    3. Construction of buildings/offices.

    4. Guarantees and loans to other parties.

    5. Grants or cash aid to other parties or the community.

    6. Other uses that are not relevant to the achievement of RISPRO-KI outputs.

  9. The total proposed value of RISPRO-KI funding has taken into account taxes or other fees in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  10. The value of RISPRO-KI funding is determined based on the Decision Letter of the LPDP CEO.
