Jakarta, January 24, 2024 - There was a distinctive element to the Pre-Departure Preparation event for awardees of the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) last Wednesday (17/1). A distinguished diplomat, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, graced the PK-222 Nuraga Tiyasa event to provide guidance and engage in discussions with the awardees.
During the occasion, the Foreign Minister emphasized that the awardees should always remember that they are the future of Indonesia. Thus, hard work, maintaining integrity, and an unwavering love for Indonesia should be manifested in every step taken by the awardees.
"The dream of becoming a victorious nation will only come true if we all work hard, commit to advancing the nation. Despite our differences, the fact remains that we are all part of one Indonesia," said Retno Marsudi before 313 participants present in the Ancol area, North Jakarta.
Minister Retno Marsudi also expressed optimism that achieving Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia 2045) lies in the hands of the next generation, namely the LPDP awardees who will pursue higher education.
PK-222 Nuraga Tiyasa consists of 127 males and 186 females. A total of 275 individuals are pursuing master's degrees, while 38 are embarking on doctoral studies. They are scattered across various domestic and international campuses.
They come from diverse backgrounds in terms of regions and occupations, spanning from Aceh to Papua, from Southeast Sulawesi to East Nusa Tenggara. The inclusive LPDP scholarship is evident through the presence of 59 awardees from the Prasejahtera Scholarship program, 30 awardees from the Regional Affirmation program, six awardees from the Sons and Daughters of Papua program, and one from the Disabilities program.
All of them gather for the Mandatory Pre-Departure Preparation, a necessary activity for LPDP scholarship recipients before embarking on their studies. The values of integrity, motivation, resilience, and adaptive behavior conveyed by speakers and knowledge sharing are expected to strengthen hearts and solidify the vision and mission as they face the future.
