Jakarta, July 12, 2023 - The Pre-Departure Training (PK) is an event that brings together selected young individuals, future leaders of the nation. The Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP), as the organizer of PK, continues its efforts to provide an event that facilitates awardees to network, collaborate, and share a collective concern to contribute to society.
The PK event took place throughout June, comprising two cohorts, PK-204 and PK-205. A total of 401 awardees underwent comprehensive training sessions before embarking on their academic journeys. Each cohort had the opportunity to gain insights, inspiration, and hopes from officials and academics.
PK-204, named Nyala Bentala, was honored by the presence of the Minister of Cooperatives and Small-Medium Enterprises (Menkop UKM), Teten Masduki. Teten Masduki emphasized the importance of meticulous preparation for the modernization in various sectors leading towards Indonesia Emas 2045. This includes the development of the Indonesian entrepreneurship model by preparing SME actors with innovative business models and competitive products.
"The curriculum in education must be designed to cultivate entrepreneurial spirits for the future," stated Teten Masduki at Mercure Hotel, Ancol, North Jakarta.
PK-204 consisted of 199 awardees, including 113 females and 86 males, with the majority heading to international campuses. Among them, 108 awardees pursued master's degrees, and 12 pursued doctoral degrees.
The second cohort in June was PK-205, named Banawa Agata, with 202 participants, including 107 females and 95 males. The majority, 105 awardees, opted for master's studies abroad.
PK-205 invited the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini. She initiated a dialogue by reminding awardees to be grateful for being selected for the LPDP scholarship, enabling them to pursue higher education.
The former Mayor of Surabaya also advised awardees studying abroad to expand their networks as much as possible, accompanied by high self-confidence.
"Confidence is crucial in pursuing knowledge to absorb new insights effectively. LPDP awardees must be resilient in facing challenges and return to contribute to solving existing issues in Indonesia," said Risma.
In addition to the Minister of Social Affairs, Isma Yatun, the Chairwoman of the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK RI), also addressed the PK-205 awardees, named Banawa Agata. Isma Yatun emphasized the importance of integrity and leadership, urging awardees to nurture these qualities. Integrity should be the most fundamental aspect, especially regarding academic matters such as plagiarism.
"Corruption knows no specific geographical conditions. Everyone, including LPDP awardees, has the potential to become a white-collar fraudster, with greater losses compared to blue-collar fraudsters," warned Isma Yatun.

Furthermore, Isma Yatun advised LPDP awardees to have resilience in pursuing education, as the challenges after completing their studies will become even greater.
LPDP extends its heartfelt thanks and utmost appreciation to the speakers and national figures who took the time to attend the June 2023 PK event.
