Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) is tasked with managing the Endowment Fund in the field of education to ensure the continuity of education programs for the next generation. Some educational programs, such as scholarship and research funding, require continuous financial assurance each year. With a funding scheme sourced from the endowment fund, programs with a multi-year nature will be guaranteed in their continuity.
The annual allocation of the endowment fund in the State Budget will cumulatively increase the value of the endowment fund. The utilization of the Endowment Fund in the field of education is not done with a spending scheme; instead, it is invested, and the returns from its development will be used to sustain various education programs. To achieve optimal development outcomes, the Endowment Fund in the field of education is also invested in various investment portfolios with controlled risk levels.
Source of Funds
State Budget
The government's main source for allocating Endowment Funds in the Education Sector with the aim of developing national education, research, culture, and higher education;
Investment revenue
Income derived from the development of Endowment Funds in the Education Sector through short-term and / or long-term investments in securities and non-securities at home and / or abroad.
Other legitimate sources
Other sources in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations. Can be in the form of grants, the results of cooperation with other parties, income from technology transfer of research results, royalties on patent rights, third-party funds, trust funds, both from within and outside the country, and or other sources.
The Endowment Fund in the Education Sector can be developed in the form of short-term and/or long-term investments in domestic and/or foreign securities and non-securities. In carrying out the task of developing funds, LPDP can cooperate with third parties while still prioritizing sound business practices and managing risks, paying attention to the principles of good governance, and acting in accordance with statutory provisions.
