Jakarta, 8 February 2026 – Mata Garuda (MG), the official alumni organization of the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP), in collaboration with LPDP, successfully convened the Mata Garuda LPDP Leadership Forum (MGLF) 2026. Held from 5–8 February 2026 in Jakarta, the forum carried the theme “United in Ideas & Moving for Service.”

The forum served as a strategic consolidation platform for approximately 200 Mata Garuda executives for the 2025–2028 term, representing national, regional, and international chapters. Participants—alumni of leading universities in Indonesia and abroad—reflected the diversity of Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke.

MGLF 2026 aimed to strengthen alumni leadership capacity to actively serve as agents of change, foster constructive collaboration networks, and formulate policy recommendations with tangible impact on national development and Indonesia’s global engagement.

In addition to the leadership forum, the event also featured the 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of Mata Garuda, marking a unified commitment among alumni to move forward together under a shared mission of service.

Chairperson of Mata Garuda LPDP for the 2025–2028 period, Wahyu Bagus Yuliantok, called on all board members to translate ideas into concrete action through four strategic organizational pillars.

“We aspire to establish Mata Garuda as a collaborative home that continues to grow into a crucible for nurturing Indonesia’s future national leaders. We invite all members to collaborate and contribute through our four pillars: MG Institute, MG Capacity Building, MG Community Development, and MG Entrepreneurship,” Bagus stated while leading the National Coordination Meeting.

National Insight from Prominent Leaders

The Leadership Forum featured several distinguished national figures as keynote speakers, including Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia Teddy Indra Wijaya; Governor of Lembaga Ketahanan Nasional (Lemhannas RI) TB Ace Hasan Syadzily; Vice Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia Donny Ermawan Taufanto; Presidential Special Assistant Dirgayuza Setiawan; as well as other speakers who are LPDP alumni.

In his address, Governor of Lemhannas RI Ace Hasan Syadzily emphasized that academic excellence alone is not sufficient for LPDP alumni. He highlighted the importance of strong geopolitical awareness.

“LPDP alumni are expected not only to excel academically, but also to possess Geo-Consciousness. Mata Garuda must become a strategic collaborative space to realize this,” Ace Hasan remarked.

Echoing this message, Vice Minister of Defense Donny Ermawan Taufanto reminded alumni of their role as unifiers of the nation, urging them not to be divided by particular interests or external interventions.

“LPDP alumni are heirs to a spirit that has been entrusted with the best educational opportunities. You must become unifiers amid diversity, drivers of national transformation, and leaders courageous enough to make decisions for the greater good—always placing Indonesia’s sovereignty above all,” Donny affirmed.

A Moral Responsibility to Serve the Nation

Acting President Director of LPDP, Sudarto, underscored the privilege carried by LPDP alumni status and the significant moral responsibility that accompanies it.

“Through MGLF 2026, we aim to provide direction and reinforcement for alumni contributions in service to the Indonesian people,” Sudarto stated.

He further emphasized LPDP’s commitment to strengthening alumni engagement in national priority programs, including the continued development of the National Talent Platform.

“The National Talent Platform will be integrated with LPDP’s scholarship recipient database and designed to facilitate alumni networking while connecting top talents with human resource needs across strategic government programs and key partners,” Sudarto added.

With the conclusion of MGLF 2026, Mata Garuda LPDP reaffirmed its commitment to accompanying and safeguarding Indonesia’s development through inclusive synergy and sustained contributions toward achieving Golden Indonesia 2045.

Mata Garuda is the official organization of scholarship recipients under LPDP, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. It serves as a platform to accommodate aspirations, build networks, and channel community service contributions from LPDP awardees across Indonesia and around the world.
