Yogyakarta, November 9, 2023 - Amidst the Annual Work Meeting of the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP), employees and the board of directors visited the Panggungharjo Village in Bantul Regency, the Special Region of Yogyakarta on Thursday morning (9/11).

LPDP selected the village of Panggungharjo to visit in conjunction with World Anti-Corruption Day (HAKORDIA) due to its recognition as an Anti-Corruption Village by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) since 2021.

It's known that Panggungharjo has fulfilled five indicators of an anti-corruption village: strengthening administration, enhancing supervision, improving public service quality, boosting community participation, and incorporating local wisdom in supporting anti-corruption efforts.

Aside from promoting integrity and governance to prevent corruption, the village has organized various compelling programs to enhance the welfare of its residents.

One of the intriguing initiatives is the "One House, One Scholar" program. It targets parents who work as farm laborers or construction workers and haven't witnessed an improvement in their social status over the next 10 years. Children from these families will receive educational aid through the Smart Card and mentorship.

The Secretary of Panggungharjo Village, Yuli Trisniati, also highlighted other achievements such as being the champion of the 2021 Food Secure Village, recognized as one of the best national Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), and this year, entering the top 10 in the Justice Award in the legal field.

The visit to Panggungharjo Village, wrapped in a seminar themed "Collaboration to eradicate corruption, for Indonesia's progress," was attended by LPDP's CEO, Andin Hadiyanto. He emphasized that upholding integrity is the key to preventing corruption.

"I am delighted that LPDP isn't just promoting anti-corruption to its employees and partners but also to potential awardees during our Preparation for Departure (PK) activities. We instill these values in them from the start as they will eventually play roles in future leadership," said Andin Hadiyanto.

Furthermore, Andin Hadiyanto stressed the importance of managing state finances transparently, accountably, and free from corruption, including in the management of the Endowment Fund in Education.

The optimal and corruption-free utilization of state funds will undoubtedly create better and broader educational opportunities for Indonesian children. This visit to the anti-corruption village is part of the preparations leading up to the pinnacle event of World Anti-Corruption Day within the Ministry of Finance on December 12, 2023.
